(35,813 posts)Until this year, most of the absentee ballots have been military service people and out-of-state college students. I'm not sure how many shut-ins such as elderly or handicapped were voting by absentee ballot. (I'd think it's a significant number because our median age is higher in PA.)
This year with Covid it's all katty-wampus, because now a lot of us want to vote by mail. I'm sure the mail-in ballots will skew Democratic by a large margin.
What happened on 2016 is irrelevant, they're not going to declare a recount now. Once Chump was sworn in, the vote count didn't matter any more.

(1,619 posts)We put in our request for a mail in ballot early but never showed up as being received, I called Aug 20 to find out and the woman said the had it, just did not process it yet. According to the web site for tracking it was processed Aug 20 but now is pending. They have not mailed our ballots yet. I am not sure when they will mail them, but check the ballot tracking web page about once a week to see what is happening. We live is a republican stronghold, maybe they are not in a hurry to get out the ballots to registered democrats

(2,520 posts)The instructions on our ballots is clear. They might throw out a dozen ballots due to lack of security envelope. They might want to review the instructions to see if they're clear.
