One "red" county will use stimulus money to improve broadband access

https://www.timesonline.com/story/news/2021/05/06/beaver-county-survey-broadband-access-fill-gaps/4963035001/

Our commissioners are embarking on a survey of broadband access to find out where there is none and also where there is coverage, but it's unreliable. Once completed later this summer, the county will use federal stimulus money to pay for upgrades.

Beaver County’s Office of Planning and Redevelopment is mapping broadband infrastructure and availability throughout the county. Once complete, leaders will likely use some of the county’s federal stimulus money to fill infrastructure gaps. Reliable internet is vital to improving social outcomes, according to the The Brookings Institution. Especially during COVID-19, when many essential services are telecommute.

She had poor internet reception, I bought her an extender that cured the problem inside the house but she couldn't stray too far away.

She moved away from the red necks to be in a better school district for her son.

It's hillier than a lot of people realize and that plays havoc with reception, too.
