PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) The man accused of killing a 25-year-old Temple grad, who was walking his dog in Brewerytown, was held over for trial on murder charges following a preliminary hearing Tuesday morning.
Josephus Davis is accused of fatally shooting 25-year-old Milan Loncar in the chest in January as Loncar walked his dog around the corner. ... Surveillance video captured the incident. Authorities say Davis was quickly identified.
Davis was out on bail following two other gun possession cases. He has two prior robbery convictions and was on probation for two years. ... He was also arrested for allegedly carjacking an Uber driver at gunpoint. While in jail, he was additionally charged with assaulting a prison guard, violating his probation.
Critics say the Philadelphia District Attorneys Office should have asked for a detainer on Davis, but court records show neither prosecutor did at bail hearings.
