Philadelphia City Council Closes Loophole, Making Dirt Bikes, ATVs Illegal Street Vehicles

By CBS3 Staff June 11, 2021 at 6:22 am

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Philadelphia police now have another tool to crack down on the dangerous use of dirt bikes on city streets. On Thursday, City Council amended the traffic code to include dirt bikes, ATVs and dune buggies as illegal street vehicles.

This closes a loophole in the law.

Officers now have the authority to confiscate the vehicles.

Lawmakers say illegal use on city streets is a growing problem.
