Smoking has returned to Pennsylvania casinos after 1-year temporary ban

Patrons at Pennsylvania casinos are once again permitted to smoke in designated areas on the gaming floor. In Pennsylvania, most indoor smoking is prohibited at commercial establishments across the state due to legislation passed in 2008. But, one large exception to that rule where smoking is permitted is casinos, where
facilities can designate smoking areas of up to 50 percent of the gaming floor.

The smoking ban was put in place on June 9, 2020 by direction of the Gaming Control Board following Gov. Tom Wolf's office mask mandate, according to Doug Harbach, communications director for the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

The ban was lifted at the end of last month. So, smokers no longer have to get up from the slot machine to find an outside designated area to smoke.

Casinos have come a long way since May 2020, when all of the state casinos were closed during the state's shutdown due to COVID-19.
Pennsylvania casinos brought in $413,182,161 in May 2021.

The stench really detracted from the experience. Maybe some don’t care, but the smoke was overpowering.

The smoke gets into the carpets and they cannot get the stench out.

My eyes burn so bad and my nose runs non-stop and I have to leave.

They have banned smoking in them where I am for the time being.

I have no idea if it is permanent or not, but if it isn't, I'll never go near one again.

I used to be a smoker at one time but never got into it heavily thank god.

I feel sorry for those that simply cannot quit this nasty habit.

It’s actually helpful for folks to understand how the air can fill with virus if aerosolized.

It’s also ironic how people will view cigs as ok to put in their bodies, actually dangerous and actually devised to be addictive by tobacco companies, yet smokers who refuse vax are refusing the vaccine on those very grounds
