Air Force veteran pilot of WWII-plane killed in crash at Pennsylvania airport

The plane was part of the GEICO Skytypers Air Show Team, which flies World War II-era aircraft and was scheduled to perform Saturday at the Great Pocono Raceway Airshow.

This is the second one of their planes to go down. They are old back in the day they were the bill or fare for training West Point cadets here, a goodly number crashed many were walk-a-aways.

Air shows terrify me. Every year, somewhere, a participant is killed. Why have them?
