NEW: Pennsylvania Republicans have asked SCOTUS to block the Pennsylvania Supreme Court's congressional map, arguing that the U.S. Constitution gives the state legislature a near-unlimited right to regulate federal elections.

North Carolina Republicans filed a similar request on Friday. Both cases are spearheaded by Jonathan Mitchell, the conservative attorney behind Texas' vigilante abortion ban.

I thought conservatives were all about states rights and the elimination of frivolous lawsuits?

Also, what standing does a lawyer in TX have for cases in PA and NC?

While I know the answer is IOKIYAR, but what gives?
