Mr. Fetterman, the front-runner who is running against U.S. Rep. Conor Lamb and state Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta in next Tuesdays Democratic primary, said its not about turning the reddest counties blue, but about trimming into the margins here and halting the enthusiasm behind the eventual GOP nominee.
Democrats in red counties are the soul of the party, Mr. Fetterman said, and the winner of next weeks primary will need every county and every vote.
Is there a new law that says a vote in Greensburg counts less than a vote in Pittsburgh? Mr. Fetterman asked the crowd at El Diablo Brewing Co. & Wood Fired Kitchen. Your votes count the same everywhere. Thats why we go everywhere.

John Fetterman is a smart man and a hard-working Dem leader.

I honestly believe he will get some Magat votes, he relates with the little guy/gal.
I liked that he kept his promise to run a positive campaign even though his opponents did not.

(142,266 posts)I would agree with this and I live in the midnight blue county/city of Philadelphia, where we are the "heart" of the party.
Given we have many like that on DU who are lost and living in a sea of red, but who persevere as much as they can to get their voices heard, I really truly feel sorry for but am heartened by them.
And I expect in that circumstance, those (not DU ones) who are not really "politically engaged", have little or no desire to even bother voting. But when it comes to this era of voter suppression and the GOP continuing to promote "the Big Lie®", every single blue vote in a state-wide race, counts, and if he can get them motivated, then bravo!
