The separation agreement for Abram Lucabaugh who wasnt present during Tuesdays meeting drew outrage from community members, who called it stealing and corruption. The districts chief financial officer said she didnt yet know how the payout would affect the budget, because it was added to the boards agenda just Monday night.
Others questioned whether it was even legal: Pennsylvania school code prohibits severance payouts to superintendents that exceed one years worth of salary and benefits, if the superintendent leaves two years or more before the end of the contract. Lucabaugh was granted a new five-year contract with a 40% raise just this summer.
The districts solicitor, Jeffrey Garton, said Tuesday he wasnt involved in drafting the agreement and hadnt analyzed it to determine what was classified as severance, versus other payments to Lucabaugh. (Part of the agreement pays Lucabaugh $265,000 for 219 unused accumulated sick days.)
I smell a lawsuit coming up right quick. Never turn your back on the Repukes, they will ceaselessly look for ways to screw the Dem voters.

(61 posts)Abe is a scumbag of the highest order - between his time as principal at CB East and as CBSD Superintendent - he has done a lot of damage to CBSD and its students, faculty and staff especially when the Moms For Fascism were the majority on the CBSD Board. We lived in the district for 25 years and both of our daughters graduated from CB East in the 2010s.
Hopefully with his departure, CBSD and the new board majority can rebuild CBSD to its former excellence.
I am sure that Abe will get a high paying job with some fascist nut-job foundation for his educational expertise. If we still lived there we would gladly join a law suit to claw back his package.
