Crocamo says Luzerne County will deploy ballot drop boxes for Nov. 5 election; cites letter from AG

Luzerne County will utilize ballot drop boxes for the Nov. 5 election, county Manager Romilda Crocamo informed county council Friday night — possibly ending more than two weeks of upheaval over the issue.

Crocamo told council via email that she still has "grave concerns about the safety of the drop boxes in this present political climate."

However, she said she will deploy the four drop boxes the county election board had approved, in light of a letter she received from state Attorney General Michelle A. Henry on Thursday.

Henry advised Crocamo to resolve her dispute with the election board — which Henry said was the only body authorized by the state election code to decide whether drop boxes will be used.
