Following ballot printing error, Erie Co. Board of Elections work to correct mistake

Multiple Erie County voters have been experiencing errors with their mail-in ballots, with some receiving more than one ballot.

The problem comes from Election IQ, a ballot printing company that sent 296 people an incorrect ballot in addition to the correct one.

“Election IQ is a mail house, it’s a printing company out of Akron, Ohio. We contracted with them in March of 2023. This will be our fourth election using them. We haven’t had any really known issues in the past with them,” said Erie County Clerk Karen Chillcott.

According to the Board of Election’s chairman, Election IQ’s addressing system temporarily failed, which led to ballots being mailed to the wrong places.
