(3,913 posts)It is just ridiculous. Especially when you think of all that is going on in the world today. Reporting from a McDonalds where a murderer was arrested? Seriously? These are not serious people.
What news we should be hearing about:
Assad Regime falls - Check. There has been reporting of this, but it is an ongoing story. Today the US is bombing ISIS camps in Syria to make sure that ISIS does not reconstitute itself in Syria.
Russia loses major ports on the Mediterranean (which is how they support their war efforts in Africa, so Russia is now also diminished in Africa)
S.Korea: Martial Law, Impeachment
. - This story has gone quiet. Not sure what has happend in the last 2 days.
Romania: Russian Election Interference, Elections Nullified - Has this even been reported on us news?
Taiwan reports surge of Chinese military aircraft, ships operating nearby - Again, has this been reported on MSM?
Israel bombs Syria/Russian air bases (so terrorists dont get the stuff) - some coverage, but minimal
Israel takes advantage of the situation and takes the high ground - buffer land - around the Golan Heights - some coverage.
Netanyahu to take the stand in his corruption trial for the first time - Anyone even hear about this one??
This is important: US seeking ways to engage with Syrian rebel groups after Assad ouster. Ive seen a few hinting at a secular future by the Rebels (or are they Terrorists? I think the consensus is Opposition) in the war update videos I watch in the last 2 days.
This can change the power structure of the larger region. Lebanon, Syria, Israel all on the same page. It could be amazing. It totally depends on how crazy some of the rebels are, and if the larger population over rule them.
HUGE lines of traffic of people coming back to Syria. Hundreds of Thousands? Worst traffic jam in history I think.
The guy in charge of Syria now (I think? This is all flowing so fast), was saying that they want Peace with Israel.
Could this be the End of Putin's model of supporting dictators ? Clearly it is not working. - Anyone see any reportage on this one?
And now Transnistria declares National Emergency because they will no longer receive free gas from Russia due to the fall of Syria. Will they chose to throw off the yoke of the Putin's Regime too? Another arrow in the heart for Russia, the international aggressor.
I know these are all international stories. To me, they are more important than watching reporters at a McDonalds in Altoona. I used to live in Altoona. Hated it. So glad when I gave the bf back to his parents and went back to California. There is not a lot going on in Altoona, I can tell you that. The McDonalds might be the most interesting place there (not).
Thanks for letting me vent. There are probably some important US news stories out there, but I don't know if anyone has noticed this or not, but generally all the news channels seem to be able to follow only one story a day. I'm exaggerating a bit I know, but that is what it seems like.
I could give a rats ass what TSF tweeted or truthed(???) Thank goodness for DU and BlueSky. With these 2 tools I feel I can keep informed and don't miss MSM one bit.

And good afternoon.

(36,008 posts)I'm puzzled as to why the (alleged) shooter would have a say in the matter. But I'm not a lawyer, so it's not my area of expertise.
