PA-HD193: Special election season in the ever-tight Pa. House comes to the midstate

The race pits Republican Catherine Wallen, a former legislative aide to Ecker, against retired college security chief Todd Crawley, the Democratic nominee.

Both were chosed earlier this winter by local caucuses of their respective parties’ county committees.

The politics of the district gives Republicans the edge.

In the 2024 presidential election, as one recent barometer, the district’s voters broke for Donald Trump over Kamala Harris, 68.35 to 30.5%.

But as one of just two House races going to the polls this month, both sides have been working hard in the short sprint that is this campaign.
