PROVIDENCE Former Rhode Island Governor and U.S. Senator Lincoln D. Chafee and his wife, Stephanie, are starting to put down roots in the state of Wyoming.
The Teton County town clerk has confirmed that former First Lady Stephanie Chafee registered to vote and voted in the 2018 primary and general elections in Wyoming from an address in Teton Village, not far from Jackson Hole, and that their son, Caleb Chafee, is also a registered Wyoming voter.
In an exchange of emails on Monday, Chafee who is still registered to vote in Warwick explained where things stand in his familys life when, as he put it, he returned from shoeing some broncos (kidding).
Lately,″ he wrote, we are spending more and more time out here in Teton County. Reflective of that, Stephanie has declared residency here and I am contemplating following suit.

(1,638 posts)Teton County - Often ranked as the wealthiest county in the country. Switches out with a couple of others but right up there on top, or near the top, in wealth, consistently.
It's also the only "blue" county in Wyoming.

(92,668 posts)in the Jackson Holed area. It's gotten so that a little, once sleepy, western town has so many wealthy people moving in, since the 1980s at least, such that the billionaires have routed the millionaires and all the workers have to live in Idaho because they can't afford to rent anything within many miles of JH. It's horrible what they've done. And now, all the towns around YNP/GTNP complex have been "Jackson Holed" to some degree, you can't find decent rental rates within 150 miles of The NP complex anymore. It's why I live out in the flats right now and it's too expensive here in this tiny cattle/mining town.
