(92,664 posts)Last time I was at Narragansett, that was my favorite. They're different as you go up the coast. I think they had lobster rolls too but it was a long time ago.
Looking forward to Lobster-ANYTHING, too; going to Portsmouth and Portland!
Living in MD, we always have lots of crab stuff.

(92,664 posts)I live too far from the coast to eat sea food, we do have trout and salmon, but I hope to go to New England next spring and I plan on having a bit of seafood while I'm there.

Grew up in RI - lived there for 22 years. Grew up on clam cakes, coffee milk, and wieners!
Coffee syrup is a viscous brown liquid that is essentially concentrated coffee and sugar - its typically added to cold milk. Loved the stuff (company was Autocrat - still may be the company that makes it).

My mother (adopted mother, born in Bridgeport, grew up in Conn, moved & college in Boston suburbs) so New England
big part of her, I heard about Awful Awful; funny my brother liked spoons of coffee in his glass of milk!
Will look for clam cakes, coffee milk, and wieners, prolly stay in Providence, and try Portuguese restaurants.

We also bought potato chips from Salty Brine. To this day my brother and I call a big whole potato chip a Salty Briner.
