September 16, 2017
Nashville School of Law

Here is a preview of one of the outstanding sessions at the annual Tennessee Health Care Campaign conference.

Responding to Hospital Closures in Tennessee at National, State and Community Levels
When a rural hospital closes, it's not just a rural hospital closing, but has a wider effect on the community it served. A rural hospital is the backbone of the rural community. In addition to saving lives, it is the main provider of employment and an impetus for attracting industry to the community.
This session will examine:
a) the effects of a rural hospital closures on the State's rural citizens
b) steps that a rural community can take to support their hospital
c) efforts to keep rural hospital doors open
Presenters: Nancy Anness, Saint Thomas Health/Ascension Tennessee
Craig Becker, Tennessee Hospital Association
Bill Rawls, Jr., Mayor of Brownsville
