Nashville Film Festival...mix of in person and virtual this year

https://www.tennessean.com/story/entertainment/2021/07/15/2021-nashville-film-festival-new-venues-first-films-announced/798037600

..."The 52nd annual event — planned for September 30 through October 6 — is leaving its most recent home base at the Regal Hollywood 27 multiplex, and will instead take place at a number of venues throughout Nashville.

Participating venues include the Belcourt Theater, Rocketown, Marathon Music Works and the Belmont University Theater. Organizers aim to "spotlight the city’s vibrant cultural venues and bring the surrounding communities and creative industries back to central Nashville," per a release.

Following 2020's virtual event, this year's festival will offer a mix of in-person and virtual screenings/events. A full list of films, panels, workshops and other events will be posted in August, but the festival has revealed four high-profile selections for this year.

They include:

"7 Days," the clever and intimate COVID-era romance written and directed by Roshan Sethi and produced by the Duplass Brothers;

"The Return: Life After Isis," Alba Sotorra’s compelling documentary on two young women who gave up everything to join extremists;

"Fanny: The Right to Rock," directed by Bobbie Jo Hart, that reveals the untold story of the Filipina American garage band that almost became the female Beatles; (more)
