Get Loud for the Library! (Nashville)
📚
In my e-mail today:
The mission of Nashville Public Library Foundation is to generate support for our library - sometimes leveraging private funds and at other times, gathering public support. We apologize for a second email this week, but this message simply could not wait. NPLF was just notified of an intention to hold a council amendment vote this Tuesday, June 20 to reduce Metros 4% fund. These funds allow the library to purchase books and materials, and complete repairs necessary to keep our branches open.
A cut to 4% funding would be devastating the the library! It is critically important that Metro Council hears from you before Tuesday evenings council meeting. Please reach out to your Metro Council Member via email or phone call, and voice your support for NPL. Sample language can be found below, but feel to tell your own library story. The full council roster can be found here.
NPL needs your presence at Tuesdays meeting at Metro Courthouse to show strong support! The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m.
Thank you for taking action to help NPL remain the most trusted and valuable institution in Nashville!
SAMPLE MESSAGE:
Please DO NOT vote to cut the 4% fund!
These funds allow the library to purchase books and materials, and complete repairs necessary to keep our branches open. Nashville cannot afford a cut in funding to our library the institution that meets more needs than any other across every neighborhood in your district. Vote to protect NPL!
