What to know about the two Knoxville City Council amendments on the ballot

City Charter Amendment No. 1
The first amendment specifically deals with the timing of the election for one council member. Voting for the amendment would mean voting to move the election period for the fifth council district member to the same period as the other council districts.

City Charter Amendment No. 2
The second amendment is what has been much more highly discussed. If passed, this amendment change how the entire city council is elected.
