news from the Moral Movement Tennessee network:
You Are Invited!
On Thursday of this past week, Rev. Dr. William Barber challenged us to create a Moral Movement in Tennessee that makes an impact through non-violent direct action.
Everyone has a gift, skill, talent, witness and/or presence to serve within a moral action. Rev. Barber explained how those who want change can find a place in the work for change: some stand close, others stand among the people, some are even willing to risk arrest, and others handle administrative tasks. You are invited to use your gift for justice.
On Tuesday afternoon, April 11th, Moral Movement Tennessee will have a special day on the Hill invites you to be part of planning the activity for that day.
In preparation for this, participants are invited to attend a Mass Meeting on Monday, April 10th at 6:00 pm at McKendree United Methodist Church (Address:140 6th Avenue North, between Church and
Commerce Streets).
Click here to let us know that you are ready to take action. You will receive an email with more information about how you can get involved. (Sorry...the clickable link wasn't preserved in the cut/paste, but you can learn more about Moral Movement Tennessee here):

(1,462 posts)Couldn't agree more. You would think morality would be a cornerstone in the "Bible Belt." My jaded experience has taught me that we are surrounded by proverbial wolves in sheep's clothing. You know what I mean...we have truly humble, loving, and compassionate Tennesseans. On the flip side, I have met lots of folks that just talk the talk. It seems like the current 20-40 generation is the worst. I'm hoping for a revolution of tolerance and compassion in the young kids coming up. I'm hopeful based on the interactions I have had recently with the under 20 crowd.
Be safe up there in your neck of the woods!
