No one is going to be able to sue the police for their negligence here. The police have no duty to protect you. Their job is to gather evidence of crime to prosecute you or to collect money from you through asset forfeiture or traffic tickets.

That the police on scene made this entire situation worse gives rise to no liability they have qualified immunity from any lawsuit.

The last few days haven't been good for me either. I can't take more than about five minutes of the TV news. Then it gets to be too much.
I know where you're coming from, but I hope things don't get that bad.
