(9,163 posts)I looked at the article a little quickly (on my way to work) but don't you guys have to vote on it?
Can a Governor sign a bill to make it happen? I guess it varies in the different states.
We had to vote on it here in California...
I remember when it was legalized for medicinal purposes and folks went to doctors to get cards (1996) and then it was legalized for recreational purposes in 2016.
I don't mean to be a beat down but I'd be surprised if he can just sign it into law. Having said that, I know very little about politics in TX.

(8,395 posts)to dictate how we live in this state. Probably the most powerful in Tx government is actually the Lt. Gov. (in our case a total wacko) because he set the legislative agenda. The Gov. does have veto power so his influence is significant. The biggest factor here, like the Federal GOP, is they either become loyalists to the Gov. or Lt. Gov. or their stay is limited.
Another of the largest factors here is the $$$ impact of several of the billionaires in the state who are the king makers. They push their religious and crony ideas and usually get their way.
The GOP has destroyed one of the best states in the union and I wonder if it will ever change?
