Texas county's entire election staff steps down, citing death threats and stalking

The elections administrator in Gillespie County, which includes Fredericksburg, is stepping down Tuesday over death threats, stalking and understaffing that followed the 2020 election, according to the Fredericksburg Standard-Radio Post.

“I’m understaffed and underpaid and I’ve been asking for help for a while, and at some point, you just have to take care of yourself,” Anissa Herrera told the Standard-Radio Post.

But Herrera is not the only person to step down from the county’s elections department. Gillespie County Judge Mark Stroeher told the Standard-Radio Post that the entire staff resigned for similar reasons, leaving the county in a dire situation for the upcoming November election.

He said that the county has “some people who are pretty fanatical and radical about things” and drove out Herrera and the staff. Stroeher said that the job became more difficult than it probably should be “because of some individuals who are continuing to question how they are doing things,” according to the Standard-Radio Post.

They are literally proving that they are dangerous across the country and yet everyone acts as if there's nothing that can be done

Why don't we make death threats a federal crime?
Maybe an automatic 6 months in jail for every phone call they make, perhaps that would knock this shit off.

Why are election officials not getting protected like mail carriers? Can't they pass a federal law that it's illegal to threaten an election worker?

These people deserve to be protected by these alabaster monsters and no one's doing anything.

It's Shameful.
If it was black people doing this, the government would have figured out how to stop it by now

We cannot allow white supremacist fascism to threaten others with death and get away with it. Their intimidation is to gain control.

Slightly new song lyrics for the FBI on how to deal with our emerging Nazis:

Every threat you make
And every move you take
Every bond you break
Every step you take
I'll be watching you

Every single day
And every word you say
Every game you play
Every night you stay
I'll be watching you

Way too many right-wing nutcases in and around it, now. Damn shame.

And I'm confident there are still plenty of decent folks in town. It's just a shame that the trump goons have so much influence.
