I don't get it, either. Beto is one fantastic candidate, he's an energetic problem solver Rhiannon12866 Aug 2022 #2

It’s discouraging that his poll numbers against Abbott haven’t improved lately, even though the abortion ban is so unpopular. I don’t get it.

And I've followed him and his campaign, too - though I'm as far away from Texas I can get, Northeastern New York, close to Canada and not far from the Vermont border. Abbott has been a nightmare for Texas. Pregnant women have no rights, it's tough for them now to even get routine health care, doctors and hospitals are so terrified they could face prosecution. And Texas has had a record number of school shootings, yet Abbott held the NRA convention there right after the horrific Uvalde shooting. And then there's the power grid issue, he's made no changes even after people died last winter. The list goes on. What does it take???

And they liked his ideas so much that they decided to support him instead. And many of his campaign ads are lifelong Republicans who are changing over to vote for Beto. He's traveling the state, going door-to-door and having well attended rallies in the most red parts of the state. What is Abbott doing?? Not one thing...

I really hope a lot of former non-voters crawl out of the woodwork and help kick Abbott to the curb.
