(4,225 posts)aka Christian Nationalism as a threat, not to just to democracy and to our country... but to religion in general, and Christianity in particular. How long before people get so fed up with no one listening to them and their questions and concerns about the oncoming theocracy train that they begin to take matters in their own hands? I don't mean violently... our side doesn't do that (at least, I haven't seen widespread violence from Democrats, Independents, and others of our ilk.). But... if a caterer who never opened a shop, doesn't know how to create a wedding cake, etc., can bring a case before the SCOTUS and get ruled in their favor... when do WE start fighting back with the courts over the restrictions on OUR freedoms?
Whether Putin wants in or not (and he does), whether the R's want it or not, or the magas... they are setting the entire country up as an "us" vs "them" scenario on every single everyday occurrence one might run into. Freedom of (and from) religion is suppose to paramount in this country, and yet SCOTUS has defiled that right. How do we fight back?
