For Texas book lovers

Not sure if anyone's posted this yet, but I thought I'd cross-post this from the fiction forum:

My mum called me yesterday with news about how Texas residents (she's one) with a state-issued ID can get full access to Houston Public library's eBook collection, no matter where one lives in the state, and without age restrictions. Link here:

Mum's in her 80s and not very Internet savvy, so she needed me to set up an account for her and walk her through the basics of finding and checking out books. She's chuffed to bits to have access to a much wider range of books than her local small town library can offer.

The book banning craze is rather strong in some Texas communities, so this could be a way around those restrictions for those residents who are outnumbered by Klanned Karenhood.
