Thousands of DFW churchgoers affected by string of resignations, scandals

TARRANT COUNTY, Texas — At least five North Texas churches are looking for new pastors after a string of sudden resignations, firings, and arrests.

The shakeups, which all occurred in a 42-day span, have stunned thousands of churchgoers and elders. In at least three cases, church leaders addressed the changes in heavy sermons.

Some messages featured tearful apologies or pleas for patience and grace.

"I think we're just publicly seeing the tip of the iceberg," blogger Amy Smith told WFAA. "What that tells you is that it's systemic."

I bet there are a lot of issues with 'moral failure' and 'sin’ abounding nationwide in this industry.

In the newsletter. There is never a shortage of them, sadly. They also track embezzlement, etc.

If your minister has been involved in criminal sexual behavior for a long time, chance are that several people in the church knew about it and kept their mouths shut.

because such "transgressions" have been happening regularly throughout my life (and well before, as well -- you just have to be open to reading accurate history).

I have been to several non denominational or evangelical churches in the last 10 years or so.

I discovered I don’t need

1) Praise dancers - teens and women strutting their stuff during “worship”

2) Christian rock music - WTF?

3) Assignment to one of the Twelve Tribes of Israel - double WTF

4) Church as a family - who’s your daddy?

5) Hymn lyrics projected on a screen.

Nope.

My dear mother-in-law loved Joel Osteen. I still remember the first time I walked into his “church.”

All I could think about was the vulture and longhorn that appeared onstage during a ZZ Top concert.🤣

And yes there was one church where the female congregation were dancing and prancing around in a circle, were kinda exhibiting signs of erotic ecstasy. We watched in an amusement of what we were watching.

We have some relatives involved in such behavior.

Thanks for the original OP!

When an organization is obsessed with sex, you have to expect that some of the leaders it attracts will have sexual obsessions.
