How to vote in the Houston area for the 2024 presidential election

Early voting across Texas begins on Oct. 21 and runs until Nov. 1.

Many counties, including Harris County, allow their voters to cast ballots at any polling location within their jurisdiction, regardless of where they live. Other counties may require voters to go to the polling location in their home precinct.

Check with your local voter registrar or elections office to see where they allow you to vote and when polls are open during early voting as times can vary from county to county. Some counties’ procedures for early voting may differ from their protocols on Election Day.

In Harris County, all 88 early-voting locations will be open during the following hours:

Oct. 21 – Oct. 26 — 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Oct. 27 — Noon to 7 p.m.
Oct. 28-Oct. 30 — 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Oct. 31 — 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

we are growing in number of dems (yay!), and many of us vote early. I would recommend it for all who can do it. They put the spreadsheets up on the Brazoria County election page of the early voters every day (just your name and address). It's reassuring when they've acknowledged your vote!
