(70,568 posts)... dead center for development. The new map had its center about twenty mile south of Austin. I just know it's now much further south.
The photo looks like New Braunfels/San Marcos would be the new center.

(1,206 posts)my company has a branch in austin, that team works at night to avoid daytime heat - how can an area grow like that when being out and about during daytime hours is not sustainable?

(125,187 posts)so the oppressive months are from mid-June through mid-October and those timeframes can shorten with some luck.
The growth is sustainable because the other eight to nine months of the year are pretty enjoyable. I live in Bryan which is 2 hours away and the temperature is 78 degrees today. That's a positive point compared to shoveling snow or driving on icy roads. By the way, I hope you weren't impacted by the flooding.

(1,206 posts)ty for asking! The floods were all around the area but fortunately my cul-de-sac had a flood prevention thing put in years ago - they removed a couple houses and created a vacant field on two sides of my property(yay for me!) and then put in some kind of porus cement on the road that not only lets water pass through but also filters it
pretty innovative!
