Weber State seeks ordinance change for off-campus student housing

OGDEN — Weber State University is supporting a proposal to build off-campus student housing in Ogden.

A community forum about the project will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, in the Hurst Center Dumke Legacy Hall.

The proposed 41-unit apartment complex structure would be on Harrison Boulevard near 3850 South but, according to a news release, existing city ordinances prevent its construction.

The meeting is being held to inform the community before Weber State begins the suggested ordinance changes to the city council. Existing rules don’t allow more than three unrelated residents per unit.
