As a liberal, I believe in the protection of all free speech. Even speech we consider objectionable (my opinion .
I support a statement against racism. That seems like a good idea.

(22,920 posts)we deal with this even in small town Vermont... I have had to counter some comments and arguments in my local Front Porch Forum that are ignorant and backwards... in small towns though, we can name names and call specific people out...
I believe in free speech but not the spread of inaccurate, ignorant innuendos and we have our share of it here

(4,429 posts)my daughter goes to school up here. I want her to learn that challenging the status quo is democratic. (Not that she should fly a confederate flag, of course!)
But protecting freedom of speech is what democrats stand for
