VT Secretary of State addresses possible mail-in voting confusion ahead of general election
RUTLAND, Vt. According to the Vermont Secretary of States Office, voters have not received their ballots Friday. Instead, voters are to expect their ballots to come in the weeks after and may not come until the second week of October, depending on any possible mailing delays.
The Vermont Secretary of States website states If you prefer to vote early or by mail you can! Voting starts as soon as ballots are available not later than 45 days before the primary or general election
However, Saturday, Sept. 21, marks exactly 45 days before the general election, and Vermonters have still not received their ballots. According to the Rutland city clerk, those ballots will start to be mailed out on Monday, Sept. 23.
VT Secretary of State Sara Copland Hanzas said the timeline of when voters receive their ballots in Vermont is not strict.
