Tree Lighting Ceremony!

As is tradition on the day after Thanksgiving the tree at the top of Church St. was lit tonight, regardless of the rain. Check out the article from the Burlington Free Press.

"Despite a chilly rain Friday night, there was nothing soggy whatsoever about Burlington’s traditional downtown countdown and tree-lighting.

Hundreds of merry-makers, seemingly oblivious to the ever-wetter weather, packed the northern end of the Church Street Marketplace.

They erupted into unbridled hoots, hollers and applause as current was applied promptly at 6:02 p.m. to constellations of electric lights decking the Christmas tree.

Folks had to stretch their necks back a little further this year to take in the spectacle: the 50-feet-tall blue spruce, donated by the Villemaire family of Colchester, is the tallest-ever at the Marketplace."

Makes me miss good old VT!
