Bail kept at $500K in fatal hit-and-run case

Former Rutland city attorney Christopher Sullivan’s bid to be released from prison has been denied.

Sullivan, 57, was convicted in 2015 of being under the influence of alcohol while driving on Strongs Avenue in 2013 when he hit and killed Mary Jane Outslay, 71, of Mendon.

Sullivan was in White River Junction criminal court Thursday for a hearing on whether he could be considered for home confinement while he awaits a new sentencing hearing scheduled for June 29.
