Republican delegate files resolution to repeal Virginia Constitutional ban on same-sex marriages.

This looks like the so-called “clean repeal” some Republicans said they could support.

It just gets rid of the ban, without replacing it with new, largely symbolic marriage equality language.

PLOT TWIST: Republican Delegate Tim Anderson—the guy who unsuccessfully sued to get Gender Queer removed from book stores (https://usatoday.com/story/entertainment/books/2022/08/30/gender-queer-virginia-judge-tosses-suit-obscene-books/7943937001/)—files resolution to repeal the Virginia Constitutional ban on same-sex marriages. https://lis.virginia.gov/cgi-bin/legp604.exe?231+sum+HJ460

Democrats who have worked on LGBTQ equality issues for years say they're filing the same thing Anderson did.

That means it could pass on a bipartisan basis, depending on how
@cToddGilbert
decides to handle it.

"The conservative principle here is less government, more freedom," GOP Del. Tim Anderson says of his proposal to get rid of Virginia's antiquated same-sex marriage ban.
