My last adopted candidate was John Fetterman. This time it's Eugene Vindman in Virginia's 7th Congressional District.

https://vindmanforcongress.com/ Cross-posting in General Discussion.

VA 7 is a Lean Democratic district, presently represented by Democrat Abigail Spanberger. Spanberger is not up for re-election in 2024 because she's running for governor against the odious Glenn Youngkin. I'm endorsing Spanberger, and I'll donate to her, but the bulk of my donation support this cycle is going to Eugene Vindman.

The Democratic Primary in Virginia will be held on June 8th of this year. Five other Democrats are running for this seat. I've put Vindman on a monthly donation schedule. You can donate through his link above, or ActBlue here: https://secure.actblue.com/directory?query=Vindman

I figure early donations will help him get established and get his campaign up and running.

With his Ukraine immigrant background and high-level military career, Vindman will support the oath he took to protect and defend the Constitution. For a refresher of who he is and where he fits in, here's an intro from his campaign front page:

MEET EUGENE VINDMAN
On July 25, 2019 — while serving as the senior ethics official at the National Security Council in the White House — Eugene’s brother, Alex reported the call where President Trump attempted to extort our ally Ukraine by withholding military aid unless President Zelenskyy investigated Trump’s political rival.

Together, they blew the whistle on President Trump which resulted in his first impeachment.

That decision cost Eugene and his brother their military careers after the former-president retaliated against them, but Eugene is not done serving.

Today he has a new mission: To represent the people of Virginia’s 7th Congressional District.

MIdas Touch has a just-released in-depth interview with Eugene Vindman at this link. If you don't want to watch it all, just watch the first couple of minutes to see Vindman's campaign intro video. It's compelling:

I was encouraged about the direction Virginia was going in until they elected Youngkin. NBachers Jan 2024 #2

Sad to lose Abigail Spanberger as our representative, but will be backing her in 2025 for the Governor's race.

Let’s hope Abigail can remedy that!
