Herndon police have taken a man into custody after he was wanted on multiple counts out of Pennsylvania. When police searched the man’s home, “alarming” chemical substances were found inside.

Around 11:30 a.m. Friday, police were called to the 200 block of Herndon Station Square to execute a search warrant on behalf of a Pennsylvania county police department. The man, 44-year-old Steven Timothy Kyle, was wanted on multiple counts of criminal mischief, stalking and harassment.

In collaboration with the Fairfax County Police Department bomb squad and ATF Washington, police evacuated neighboring homes after they discovered “chemical substances and other evidence that raised alarm,” Herndon police said in a post on X.
