Chilly air has poured in behind the storm system that brought Mondays severe weather. As a little weather disturbance passing through the region precipitates Tuesday night into early Wednesday, temperatures will be just low enough for some wet snow in higher elevations.
Winter weather advisories are in effect for the Blue Ridge Mountains in northern and central Virginia for one to three inches of snow between 8 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. Wednesday. Even a little bit more than that is possible at elevations above 3,000 feet.
