Climate Pledge Arena Expands Free Transit Passes To All Events
SEATTLE Fans attending events at Seattle's Climate Pledge Arena will have the option to skip the traffic and parking headaches and take public transit for free under a newly expanded program, Oak View Group announced Friday.
The arena previously offered free transit passes with tickets to Seattle Kraken and Seattle Storm games, and now will extend the benefit to cover all publicly ticketed events, including concerts and comedy shows.
"In our first year we've seen 25% of fans at Kraken and Storm games take public transit," said Rob Johnson, a senior vice president at the arena. "Taking transit is great for the environment, helps reduce traffic congestion in our neighborhood, and gets fans from all walks of life together to celebrate sports and live entertainment. As light rail continues to expand throughout our region, we look forward to seeing even more fans use transit to get them to the arena."
Fans who buy tickets to an event will be able to access the free pass after linking their Ticketmaster account to the Seattle Kraken app and will receive as many passes as tickets purchased. The free passes will be valid starting two hours before doors open for an event and two hours after it ends. They can be used for rides on King County Metro, the water taxi, Sound Transit buses and Link light rail, the Seattle Monorail and Seattle Streetcar.
