Somers to run for third and final term as Snohomish County executive

EVERETT — Snohomish County Executive Dave Somers will seek reelection.

Somers, 69, a Democrat, has held the position since 2016. If he wins in November 2023, he will be term-limited after a third full term in office. Previously, he served on the County Council representing rural communities in eastern Snohomish County.

“I have worked hard in this office to focus on basics like a strong economy, public safety, and protecting our unique quality of life,” Somers said. “I look forward to the opportunity to continue making a positive difference for our families, small businesses, and communities large and small.”

As highlights of his tenure, he pointed to the expansion of the aerospace sector, opening of Paine Field to commercial air travel and increased green manufacturing and technology jobs.
