Blooms delayed as Skagit Valley Tulip Festival begins

Instead of an explosion of colors, right now the land holding the Tulips at RoozenGaarde farm is showing off one color: Green.

Shades of green are not necessarily what the thousands of annual visitors of the 'Skagit Valley Tulip Festival' are searching for. While fields of other colorful flowers can already be seen at the farm, this year, the tulips are little late.

“We’re standing in front of tens of millions of tulips that haven’t quite turned into tulip blooms yet,” Brent Roozen with RoozenGaarde said.

Roozen added that this cold weather has not helped.
