Seeing triple? 3 ferries on Edmonds-Kingston route for six days

EDMONDS — Three ferries instead of the usual two will service the Edmonds-Kingston route for about a week, starting Thursday.

Hold your excitement. Traffic is expected to be even busier than usual on the already busy route.

The third boat is to compensate for extra traffic while drive-on ferry service is closed between Seattle and Bainbridge Island to cars, motorcycles, bicycles and electric scooters while a new walkway is installed.

For six days, the Seattle-Bainbridge Island route will have a one-boat sailing schedule and allow only foot traffic on what is the busiest in the system for walk-on passengers.

IMO, they have a valid complaint. Kingston doesn't need extra traffic right now- let's push it off to Bremerton.
