80 in October?

EVERETT — The year was 1951.

That was the last time weather hit 77 degrees on an Oct. 7 in Everett. But an upper ridge pattern in the Pacific Northwest this weekend could break the record.

Temperatures will likely reach the upper 70s and low 80s on Saturday throughout Snohomish County, including 78 degrees in Everett, 83 in Darrington and 84 in Sultan. The warm surge represents a jump from highs of 61 and 62 in Everett earlier this week.

After days of fog and overcast skies, an upper ridge pattern created a large area of pressure in the region starting Thursday, said Harrison Rademacher, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Seattle.

And we average only 9" of snow a year.

Thoughts and prayers to the rest of you freezing and cooking. We get to see weather like that only on TV. We call it fake news.
