Amid bankruptcy, Rite Aid to close Everett, Mill Creek, Lynnwood stores
EVERETT It may be harder to pick up prescriptions in Snohomish County starting next month.
Pennsylvania-based pharmacy chain Rite Aid filed for bankruptcy Sunday. It plans to close 154 locations nationwide, including Rite Aid stores in Mill Creek and Everett and one Bartell Drugs in Lynnwood, according to court filings Tuesday.
The stores planned for closure in Snohomish County are:
■ Rite Aid at 10103 Evergreen Way, Everett, on Nov. 6;
■ Rite Aid at 3202 132nd St. SE, Mill Creek, on Nov. 12;
■ Bartell Drugs at 2518 196th St. SW, Lynnwood, on Nov. 14.

Rite Aid is transferring store workers and customers pharmacy prescriptions to other Rite Aid locations where possible, and will update its website about closures on an ongoing basis.

Scores of Rite Aid, Bartell leases put up for sale, including 9 in WA
An East Coast real estate company that advises Rite Aid Corp. (NYSE: RAD) on Wednesday said it will market for sale 78 Rite Aid and Bartell Drugs leases.
Among them are six Rite Aids and three Bartell stores, stretching from Covington to Bellingham. The stores include two in Bellevue and one in Seattle.
In addition, 21 fee-owned properties, including a Rite Aid in Blaine, will be sold, said Rite Aid property adviser A&G Real Estate. Fee-owned means an asset includes both the land and the building. The Blaine ground measures 23,140 square feet.

The two Bellevue leases to be sold are both Bartell stores, one at 3620 Factoria Blvd. SE and the other at 11919 NE Eighth St.
