Roundabout construction may slow traffic around Monroe

MONROE — Highway 203 will close for four days as contractors build a new roundabout at the intersection with High Rock Road and 203rd Street SE.

The closure between Tualco Road and Northeast Woodinville-Duvall Road will begin at 8 p.m. Friday and reopen at 4 a.m. Wednesday, June 26. Local traffic will be allowed up to the roundabout construction, but the intersection itself is closed to all.

Detours will take southbound passenger cars to Tualco Road to High Bridge Road and then W Snoqualmie Valley Road NE to get into Duvall from Monroe. Northbound traffic will take the same route.

Freight traffic going north, meanwhile, will be asked to use NE Woodinville-Duvall Road to get to Highway 522, which goes to Monroe. Southbound freight traffic will be asked to take the same route.

About 12,000 vehicles travel along Highway 203 at High Rock Road every day.
