Hilary Franz concedes to Emily Randall in WA-06 race
Washington State Commissioner of Public Lands Hilary Franz acknowledged this evening that her bid for Congress in the 6th District has ended unsuccessfully, offering her congratulations to fellow Democrat Emily Randall, who will be moving on to the general election along with Republican State Senator Drew MacEwen.
Thank you to everyone who supported our campaign over these last nine months, said Franz in a statement sent to NPI. It has been an amazing journey, seeing old friends and making new friends, talking with voters about the issues that matter to them and hearing their personal stories and vision and dreams for the future.
Together, we built a powerful movement and united folks across the District, from Neah Bay to Commencement Bay, behind our message of lowering costs, creating economic opportunity, addressing our housing needs, protecting our freedoms, and taking on the climate crisis. Im especially grateful to the over forty unions, firefighters and first responders and seventeen Tribes that stood with me in this race. Unfortunately, this incredible coalition was not enough to overcome the over $2.4 Million of Super PAC spending that flooded into this race at the last minute.
Ive called Senator Randall to congratulate her on her historic primary win, and it is time for all of us to work harder than ever so we can flip the House, defeat Donald Trump and defend our democracy, Franz concluded.
