Edgewater Bridge closure between Everett, Mukilteo now set for November
EVERETT — The yearlong closure of the Edgewater Bridge, the main connection between Everett and Mukilteo, will now start in early November.
The approximately $34 million project will take around a year to complete and Mukilteo Boulevard will be closed during that time. Funding is coming from a mix of local and federal funds.
The project has been delayed several times, including by the pandemic and an environmental review. After initially being looked at as a 2022 project, the closure was delayed to summer 2023. But an error in the bidding process delayed the work last year, pushing it to mid-2024.
Work on the project has officially begun, Everett Public Works spokesperson Kathleen Baxter wrote in an email Tuesday.
