Alaska unveils new international destinations from Sea-Tac Airport

Alaska Air Group, Inc. (NYSE: ALK) will add nonstop flights from Seattle to airports in South Korea and Japan next year, the carrier announced Tuesday.

The new service is an early indication of how the carrier's acquisition of Hawaiian Airlines will be felt locally.

Travelers will soon be able to fly straight from the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to both the Incheon International Airport in Seoul and the Narita International Airport in Tokyo on Hawaiian’s A330-200 widebody planes.

The new routes are the first of at least 12 new long-haul flights that Alaska will unveil at Sea-Tac by 2030, part of what the company calls its new “Global Gateway,” spokeswoman Tricia Bruckbauer said.
