Everett Fire responds to potential fentanyl exposure at Snohomish County Courthouse

EVERETT — Everett Fire is on the scene at the Snohomish County Courthouse for a report of approximately 20 people potentially exposed to suspected fentanyl residue inside a second-floor courtroom during a trial.

Out of an abundance of caution, first responders are evaluating all occupants after relocating them to the fourth floor, according to an Everett Fire social media post. No one is exhibiting any symptoms at this time, the post said.

The suspected residue came from evidence that was presented during the trial as an exhibit, Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Courtney O’Keefe said.

Law enforcement has closed the second-floor courtroom, the post said.
