Update: Medicaid Work Requirements Hit Roadblocks

X-Post from Editorials, https://www.democraticunderground.com/1016231503
------------
(snip): "In West Virginia, Democratic state Del. Larry Rowe, an outspoken opponent of work requirements, said he thinks Republicans feared work requirements would be politically unpopular.

He noted that West Virginia is the state with the highest share — 29% — of residents on Medicaid, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation. “If you take away people’s health care, they’re going to be looking for someone to blame.”

Rowe also pointed out that the state’s hospitals were adamantly opposed to work requirements. “You want to take on the biggest employer there is in many of these rural counties?” he said."
